About the app

QR Scanner is a fast, free QR code and barcode scanner for iPhone. It scans QR codes and common barcodes with the camera, finds codes inside your photos, creates your own QR codes, and keeps a searchable history — all entirely on your device. There are no ads, no tracking, no accounts, and the app never connects to the internet.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the app need camera access?: To detect QR codes and barcodes in real time. Frames are analysed on your device and never stored or sent anywhere.
Can it scan a code inside a screenshot?: Yes. On the Scan tab, tap the photo button and pick any image containing a code.
Why can't the app join a Wi-Fi network for me?: iOS doesn't allow apps to join networks directly. QR Scanner shows you the network name and password with one-tap copy, so you can connect in Settings › Wi-Fi.
Where is my scan history stored?: Only on your iPhone. Swipe a row to delete it, or use Clear All to remove everything.
Which codes are supported?: QR, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-E, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, PDF417, Aztec, Data Matrix and ITF.
